Website Development Manager job opportunity

We're on the lookout for a talented web developer to join our team to help complete projects and support our clients.

Arise are an established and ambitious digital agency providing a range of digital services that help our clients to move their businesses forward.

We provide the services companies need but don’t have in-house, offering valuable expertise in web design & development, social media, SEO, email marketing and pay per click.

We work successfully with a broad range of sectors including hospitality, tourism, legal, finance and IT.

The role

As a Website Development Manager at Arise the responsibilities required to fulfil your role successfully would include...

  • Working with the existing team and our partners to complete web projects on time and on budget.
  • Providing clients with support for any website issues, being the first point of contact for our website clients.
  • Liaising with clients to plan and complete regular developments to their websites.
  • Working with the team to review and implement protocols for scheduling projects, support work and ongoing developments effectively.
  • Continually working to improve our technical offering and range of services.

As with all team members at Arise, you would also be responsible for...

  • Maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients through a friendly approach and good customer service.
  • Taking on client feedback and always being on the lookout for areas we can improve the service we offer to clients.
  • Working with the team to further the business as a whole, contributing ideas and supporting colleagues.

While the role primarily suits a backend development skill set, a good understanding of frontend languages will be very beneficial to the role.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week), initially working remotely with a view to working from our Sheffield-based office from late 2021 or as circumstances allow.

Technical skills required

The right candidate must have the following skills…

  • PHP (experience with custom PHP applications beneficial)
  • MySQL
  • HTML
  • Linux command line tools like Gulp, npm, composer
  • jQuery (particularly running server-side scripts via AJAX)
  • CSS (basic knowledge as a minimum)

The following are not essential from day one, but experience in any of these areas would be beneficial to the role…

  • SASS
  • Smarty templates
  • Wordpress
  • Laravel
